History of the PC

History of PC

The personal computer (PC) that we all know and use everyday was once something that would take up a whole room. Companies that were able to make computers feasible for people to buy for home usage was a small company MITS which made the first computer for people to buy called the Altair.

Early Production of PC

Once the Altair was released to the public, some hobbyists took this as an opportunity to form a company and make computers cheaper to make and sell. Apple was the leading company that was formed and then there were two other mass produced computers that were sold at the time. IBM who was once the most dominate computer company for a long time didn't come around until 1981. Some time after the computer business picked up, Apple released "Lisa" which was a graphical user interface (GUI), which would display icons and text files would look how they would be printed out on paper.

Late Production of PC

Computers had already been continuously upgrading throughout the whole time they have been around and still are being upgraded. AMD made the first 64-bit processor which is how most computers operate nowadays. Newer computer software for running better are being released and updated. All computer parts are getting upgraded to be faster and perform better.

Impact

The computer has had probably one of the biggest impacts on how we function as a society. It has allowed us to get information super fast and talk to people from across the world. The computer has revolutionized how we do our jobs. The computer has allowed us to export information at a super fast rate that the time to finish a job has decreased so much.
