Sources

I don't typically keep up with everything that comes across the mainstream news. I use some social media to get that type of information from but most of the stuff I look at is gaming news. So here are the top 5 sites I use to find that type of information.

Kotaku

Kotaku is generally the most used website for gaming news. What I like about Kotaku is that it doesn't just let you know about new features in a game, or it's expected release date. Kotaku takes it a step further and talks about the gaming community as a whole, such as drama that is happening on Twitch. Kotaku sheds some light on how the gaming community can be widespread and still have it's struggles to deal with from certain creators.

IGN

IGN is a place where you would go to find some reviews of games, new superhero shows, and much more. IGN likes to mostly just give the readers a slight insight to how a game might actually feel while playing, rather then just looking at a trailer and hoping it's good. While I don't always agree with IGN's ratings, they provide others with their honest review of a game to help influence if it is worth the money or not.

Game Developer

Game Developer is a place where you are more in the loop about gaming companies and game details. This is a great place to go for looking towards certain companies and how they operate, you can look for jobs. Game Developer seems to have it all for someone that wants to go or is already in the gaming industry.

Polygon

Polygon really has everything you will ever need from a gaming news source. It covers shows, movies, reviews of games, guides for games, expected releases, etc. Polygon allows people who don't just want more information about games to enjoy their website. If you are a fan of Marvel you can go read articles about how the movies differ from the comics, how endings could've been different, etc.

PC Gamer

PC Gamer is a website that will really only be used by people who game on computer and want to know the best hardware to buy. If you want game reviews for how the run on a PC, this is the place for you. PC Gamer also keeps you up to date on the game industry news that is happening.
